China: Bridging the Wealth Gap with Propaganda

China has begun a propaganda campaign addressing the wealth gap between the countryside and coastal regions. Beijing's initial approach has involved applying gentle pressure through media channels. If this proves unsuccessful, Beijing will amp up its efforts by the end of 2006.
