On Inauguration Day, new U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order seeking to delay the enforcement of the divest-or-ban law targeting Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok — which took effect on Jan. 19 — for 75 days, The New York Times reported on Jan. 20. The executive order instructs the attorney general to not take action to enforce the ban and to send a letter to companies covered by the law like Apple, Google and Oracle stating they will not be held liable for violating the statute by facilitating access to TikTok services during the delay period....
