The U.S. and Israel coordinate regarding Iran's nuclear activities. Senior Israeli officials from the security and intelligence ministries will visit the United States to discuss Iran's nuclear program and Israeli border demarcation talks with Lebanon. They are not, however, expected to engage in discussions regarding hostage negotiations in Gaza as Israel resumes military operations there. This will be the first meeting since U.S. President Donald Trump returned to office of the U.S.-Israel Strategic Consultative Group, a forum for the countries to work to reshape the region in Israel's interests. While both nations are aligned about Iran's nuclear ambitions, they differ on the level of risk they are willing to accept. For now, the United States favors sanctions and diplomatic rhetoric to encourage Iran to negotiate, whereas Israel — which has carried out two strikes against Iran in the past year — seeks to persuade Washington to support a broader military strategy aimed at weakening Iran within its own borders. ...
